Amnesty International is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for internationally recognized human rights for all.  Our supporters are outraged by human rights abuses but inspired by hope for a better world - so we work to improve human rights through campaigning and international solidarity.  We have more than 2.2 million members and subscribers in more than 150 countries and regions and we coordinate this support to act for justice on a wide range of issues.

UFPJ began as a national campaign to bring together a broad range of organizations throughout the United States to help coordinate work against a U.S. war on Iraq. At an initial meeting in Washington, DC on October 25, 2002, more than 70 peace and justice organizations agreed to form United for Peace and Justice and coordinate efforts to oppose the war on Iraq. Today, United for Peace and Justice is a coalition of more than 1400 local and national groups throughout the United States who have joined together to protest the immoral and disastrous Iraq War

The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is an independent, nonpartisan membership organization, think tank, and publisher. The think tank is composed of more than fifty full-time and adjunct fellows who cover the major regions and significant issues shaping today's international agenda. The Studies program is organized into twelve program areas and centers that focus on major geographical areas of the world or significant foreign policy issues.
