Families USA is a national nonprofit, non-partisan organization dedicated to the achievement of high-quality, affordable health care for all Americans. Working at the national, state, and community levels, we have earned a national reputation as an effective voice for health care consumers for 25 years.
PNHP is at the forefront of research and action for a single-payer national health program. The U.S. spends twice as much as other industrialized nations on health care, yet our system performs poorly in comparison and leaves 47 million without health coverage and millions more inadequately covered. Streamlining payment through a single nonprofit payer would save more than $350 billion per year, enough to provide comprehensive, high-quality coverage for all Americans.
Health Care for All Pennsylvania is a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization, founded in 2006 to secure a comprehensive single payer health care system for every citizen of Pennsylvania. Health Care for All PA's mission is to educate the public and government officials regarding the scope and seriousness of the health care crisis, and to support and encourage legislation.
The CDC seeks to accomplish its mission of promoting health and quality of life by preventing and controlling disease, injury, and disability. Working with partners throughout the nation and the world the CDC monitors health, detects and investigate health problems, conducts research to enhance prevention, develops and advocate sound public health policies, implements prevention strategies, promotes healthy behaviors, fosters safe and healthful environments, and provides leadership and training.
CCVIM consists of a group of medical and support volunteers who give of their time, skills and efforts to assist those working uninsured in Columbia and southern Luzerne Counties needed medical services. Servives are provided by appointment only on Thursday evenings from 6 til 9pm. Volunteers, with and without medical backgrounds, are always needed and appreciated.
